Violin Swaras ("we," "the app") is a free Carnatic and Hindustani violin practice hub at violinswaras.com. This page explains what information the app collects, why, and how it's used.
What we collect

We don't ask for or store a password — signing in is entirely handled by Google's own sign-in flow, and we never see your Google password.
Google AdSense
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings, or learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Third-party services we use
- Firebase (Google) — hosts the app, stores account and progress data, and provides Google Sign-In. Governed by Google's Firebase privacy policy.
- Google AdSense — serves the ads on this site, described above.
- Amazon — some pages link out to Amazon listings for physical books. Clicking these takes you to amazon.com, which has its own privacy policy; we don't receive any personal data back from that click.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your personal data.
- We don't process payments or store payment information — book purchases happen entirely on Amazon, not on this site.
- We don't share your practice data with anyone outside the services listed above.
Your data, your control
You can delete your account and stored progress at any time by contacting us at the email below. Deleting your Google account's access to this app (via Google Account permissions) stops future sign-ins; contact us separately to remove already-stored practice data.
Children's privacy
Violin Swaras is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
